02-03 June 2007: If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing and comfy place to spend your weekend, Balay Indang will welcome you with its natural beauty, undeniably delicious food and accomodating staffs.
The secret garden lies thirty minutes away from the busy city of Tagaytay . It has an unnoticeable entrance, just a plain wooden gate and a number 88 sign on both sides. As soon as you enter the place you feel like you’re entering a different dimension - a world of old times, peaceful and naturally beautiful. The lobby of the garden, which is also the dining hall, was located near to its parking area. It’s a two storey traditional house with numerous antiquities and artifacts beautifully laid within the entrance. The indoor dining hall can accommodate 20~30 guests at the same time. It has a strange collection of different sizes and types of mirrors at one side of the wall. It also has outdoor dining hall for those who wants to experience dining with nature. Beside these awesome bits and pieces, the lutong bahay (main course and dishes) is superb, from appetizer down to the last bite of cookie. Delicioso!

The garden has an establish walkway of gravel with signboards to scattered accommodations and ammenities. It has a small swimming pool with lukewarm water, pavillion to relax and sit back while listening to soft music, a small pond, a playground for your kids, several cabanas all over the place, Station of the Cross, a small tree house, nipa hut, and many more. The accommodation resembles the conservative Philippine house not because it has a feminine name, but because of its simplicity and relaxing ambiance. It has no sorts of modern entertainment; it is only offering a view of the garden from the window, books to read and some paintings and artifacts which are amazingly beautiful. The pavillion is a place where there is abundance of cool breeze. It is where you can relax with the rocking chair and hammock which is nicely set within the wooden beams. This is where most of the guest gathers at the time of swimming. The cabanas are the best place for partners, a simple hang-out place with greens surrounding it, the best place to take a moment to talk and utter promises. The Station of the Cross is systematically placed within the garden, not so extravagant but a good place to sincerely pray since the area is surrounded by natural things, a place seems to be close to God.
One more thing, the place is unique and all the things are only one of its kind. Every thing in this place is like a human being, different from one another. Even the plates, glass, spoon and fork, no things have the same kind. I admire the idea of the owner, the theme that has created and the humility of the place.

ReplyDeleteHi. Thanks for sharing this. Heard about the place. Can u give me directions on how to get there?
ReplyDeleteI'll start with Tagaytay City Rotonda:
ReplyDeleteHead to the road where 7-11 was located.
That's the road to the market and town proper.
You will pass by Casino Filipino at your left side, Total Gasoline station and Taal Vista at your right.
When you reach the Mendez market intersection.
Look for Mercury Drugstore at right side, then make a right turn.
Drive along this Mendez Rd. Maybe after 10~15 minutes from the intersection you'll hit a dead intersection.
Turn right.
Drive another 5~10 minutes and watch carefully look at your left side.
Please note that it is only a wooden gate with no. 88 as the sign.
Then bingo! :)
hi sir sir! yes po! saraaap pa ng fooood :D
