Montreal Garden Resort: Follow me

23-26 March 2006: Traditionally, the alumni and current officers of the student organization (Mapua-IEEE) will be the one responsible for training their subordinates before leaving the campus and or the group. The Management Skills and Development Training (MSDT) is one of the major activities of the organization that aims to train future leaders which usually falls every end of the quarter

Only two hours away from Manila and you will reach the eastern part of Laguna which is the town of Pila. The town of gardens with beautiful flowers and delicacies made of coconut. A town that is full of historical places and rich in Spanish history. The way to eastern part of Laguna was comfortable, light traffic flow from SLEX, smooth pavement from exit of expressway to downtown of Pila.

Along the way you’ll see vast rice fields and range of mountains (Sierra Madre mountain ranges, Mt. Makiling, and Mt. Malarayat) which was very serene and eye-capturing.

Few minutes away from the town proper you’ll reach the Montreal Garden Resort, a 2-hectare farm and resort that has accommodating staffs and has persuading view in the entrance. The villa is good for large group excursion, team building and group activities since it has enough space to accommodate up to 300 guests. A large adult pool with two slides, children pool, dormitories, function hall and stage, medium size green field, small nipa huts, floral garden, small butterfly garden, wishing well, basketball court, billiard hall, mini zoo, and many more.

The place is scenery of provincial aura, fresh air, numerous trees and greens, simple bungalow house, and timid locals. This is a relaxing place to stay overnight with colleagues, family and friends. In our 3-day stay there with lots of group sharing, lectures, educational games, and leadership training activities, I can say that this is the best place to hide away and to forget all your troubles in life even for a while and return back home invigorated!

I should say, I learned many things in joining the Mapua Institute of Technology Student Branch of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc (Mapua-IEEE) not only technically but also in terms of leadership and camaraderie. Hundreds of friends added to my list and it was my second family in my college life.
