Nasugbu Batangas: A semi-fine and a semi-white sand beach

29-30 January 2007: Another year to spend money, take more pictures, increase the collection of sand and stone from shorelines and mountains, and to relieve the stress from everyday old habits.

Semi-fine white-to-gray sand with crushed corals and salty water of South China Sea are the trademark of Nasugbu which is located in the northwestern part of the province of Batangas and about half an hour drive from the breezy city of Tagaytay. The place was already diluted with modern technologies since it was near only to the rural areas and province of Cavite. The serenity and ambiance of the calm nature we were looking that time was gone. The shore was populated with small sari-sari stores and numerous cottages with videoke. Maybe because we just rented an average class beach resort which is near to the city proper?

At night time, we can’t able to do our preferred activity which is to put sarong on the beach sand and lie down to do star gazing while thinking of our goals in life. Instead, we just enjoyed the night like what other visitors were doing. Drink, sing, sing and sing until we get drunk. Actually, we don’t like to end the adventure just by the alcohols we drank that night and the songs they sang in the videoke, of course we want the adventure to be more exciting and fulfilling.

That’s why on the next day, immediately after breakfast, we managed to talk to a local and asked for a place to enjoy the beach with only few people and he took us to a nearby shore which is few minutes boat ride from the resort. There are only 3 cottages in the place with crushed corals dominates the shoreline. Here we enjoyed swimming and playing with the waves from the South China Sea.

On our way home, we passed by at the well-known Caleruega, a beautiful and quiet place closer to God.

A place that will surely loved by nature lovers and those wanting for a peaceful ambiance. This place accommodates wedding ceremonies, retreats, recollections and some other religious activities. Indeed, this is a good place to reflect and have some silent talk to God.
