04 June 2006: At last! After five consecutive busy years of struggling from college life, we finally gathered again and spent a day in the most popular pool resort in Laguna, the Splash Island. The meeting time was 0800, not 0801 nor 0900. I’m still the same Mandaragat (let me use this as my code name) they met before, I’m always late and keeps people waiting, without taking into consideration the value of their precious time. I’m used to it, even though I’m trying to avoid it.
My friends we’re patiently waiting for me in front of Shakey’s Restaurant at Pacita Commercial Complex. And after an hour of waiting, finally I arrived, and welcomed by them with irritated faces. Wahaha. And now we’re ready to go, Bong (boyfriend of my best friend Led) maneuvered his Land Cruiser and it took us only 20 minutes to reach the resort. Naughty me! Waiting time is longer than the time we traveled going to the resort. But its ok I believe, “It’s better late, than never.” Haha.
The resort is said to be the largest pool resort in the Philippines which has a land area of 7.5 hectares and can accommodate 6000 guests. The wave pool is the crowds favorite, for its vast area, machine-generated waves which is as high as 1 meter and beside the pool is a place where you can do sun bathing with real beach sand.

There are variety of slides depending on the level of excitement you want to experience, depending on how high you want to slide or drop and how long you want to scream and shout the nerves within you. There is a long river around the resort if you just want to relax, enjoy the view, and drive away by its running water. Bringing of food inside the resort is strictly prohibited. You can only buy food at the resort pavilion; where there are plenty of food stalls and small restaurants you can choose from.

We swam a lot, we get tanned and we shared ton of stories. I missed them so much. Thank God for the time despite of the busy schedules that we have.

This will not be the last, definitely. And we promised that every year, we will spend a day or two to meet again, runaway from our bosses and enjoy the time together to reminisce the past and also update each other.
Swimming is a complete exercise as guru said. So, when planning to go on swimming, better have enough rest and complete sleep the day before, for you to enjoy all the resort/pool amenities.
