Subic: How to get here

Improvement and development of roads has been made and the way to Subic becomes more convenient. Opening of Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), road widening in Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA), improvements in North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), and organization in the flow of traffic in area of Balintawak-EDSA greatly helped the commuters to hit northern destination with ease.

This trip to Subic takes the route via North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) which starts from Balintawak to San Fernando Interchange. Next leg is from San Fernando Interchange to Dinalupihan Interchange via Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA). And finally from Dinalupihan Interchange to Tipo Interchange via Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).

North Luzon Expressway (NLEX)
The expressway runs from Balintawak, Quezon City to Sta. Ines, Pampanga – a total distance of 84 kms. The expressway has 15 exits and interchanges:

  • Balintawak Toll Plaza
  • Valenzuela Interchange
  • Meycauayan Interchange
  • Marilao Interchange
  • Bocaue Toll Plaza
  • Bocaue Interchange
  • Tabang Toll Plaza
  • Sta. Rita Interchange
  • Pulilan Interchange
  • San Simon Interchange
  • San Fernando Interchange
  • Mexico Interchange
  • Angeles Interchange
  • Dau Toll Plaza
  • Dau Interchange

The first leg of this trip is via the NLEX from Balintawak and exits in San Fernando Interchange, which is approximately 65kms from Balintawak Toll Plaza.

Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA)
From San Fernando Interchange, turn right and drive towards Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA) all the way to Dinalupihan Interchange entry to SCTEX.

Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX)
From the Dinalupihan Interchange, drive towards the direction going to SUBIC. This is just a straight drive all the way to the Tipo Interchange.

We normally chose this roadway because we’re afraid on high gas rate that’ll accumulate by taking Dau Exit all the way to the long expressway of SCTEX.

I’m sharing you some of our photos in our Subic road trip last 28 September 2008.

  1. It's a joy to ride on SCTEX. Yun nga lang ang mahal na ng gas ngayon :( Parang mas practical na siguro mag-bus na lang. :(
